About DISTILWISE IoT

Membrane distillation is a thermal-driven separation process that uses a hydrophobic, microporous membrane to selectively transport water vapor from a hot feed stream to a cooler permeate stream. This process is particularly effective in treating high-salinity water, such as seawater or brine, and can produce high-quality distilled water with low energy consumption.

The problem addressed by Project DISTILWISE IoT is the need for a compact, energy-efficient, and IoT-enabled membrane distillation system that can be deployed in remote or off-grid locations to provide clean water for various applications, such as agriculture, disaster relief, and small communities.
